Last week as Sarah and I were finishing up our final report for Operation Christmas Child just before Easter, it occurred to us that there was a special connection in what we were doing. We couldn’t help but think of Jesus and the Cross, and how appropriate it is to be thankful at Easter for what began at Christmas!
And so with our report finished and all the final facts and figures in place, we are once again amazed at the response and creativity that our media partners put into this campaign every year. With the help of great ideas and strong partnerships that stretch the ad dollars, we are thrilled to report that Canadians responded to the message and packed over 662,000 boxes.
Operation Christmas Child reached an exciting milestone by collecting their 100 millionth shoe box this year since the program began in 1993. Canadians have contributed greatly to this number over the years; thanks to the reminder messages which media partners helped to communicate in one way or another.
We want to share a few pictures with you that we received over the past few weeks; pictures of what some media partners were able to do with a limited ad budget (what else is there in ministry?).
Eagle-Com has come alongside OCC for the past 12 years and has had the privilege of coordinating hundreds of creative campaign ideas with our media partners. We are grateful for these relationships, and the way that we all work together to reach out to children around the world. This is truly “work with a purpose”!
We hope you’re enjoying your “Friday; one week after Good Friday” – Catherine says it should be established as new public holiday! Have a great weekend…
